Apple and sloes pies

I do not know about you, but here at home we are getting full of apples! We have a garden with some fruit trees, and now the apple trees are full and the apples are ready to be eaten! And what to do with so much fruit? Pies 😀 The sloes were offered by my uncles, who are also full of them. And there is no better snack than a nice slice of tart full of fruit, right?

Sloe pie

You will need (26 cm of diameter):

For the crust:

  • 2 cups of gluten-free oat flour;
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt;
  • 3/4 cup of cold water;
  • coconut oil.

For the filling:

  • 1.5 kg of sloes;
  • ground golden linseed;
  • cinnamon;
  • agave.

Let’s start!

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees. 

In a bowl, place the oat flour and salt and mix. Gradually add the water and mix well until you have a homogenous dough. Spread the coconut oil in the pie plate to prevent pie from sticking.

With your hands begin by spreading the dough on the walls of the pie plate, evenly. Now spread the dough into the base and in the end join the walls to the base of the pie plate.

Cut the slopes in half. Place the halves like is shown in the figure. Once the base is covered, put cinnamon, ground flaxseed and a little of agave if necessary.

Let it cook for about 45 minutes.
